Plywoods

We Offer Birch Plywood, Exterior (WBP) Plywood
Versatile, non-structural building board with a smooth sanded surface
Excellent strength to weight ratio
Ideal for joinery, shelving and boxing in
Also used for signage, fascias, sofits, and linings
If used externally then all faces and edges should be treated with an appropriate preserver to prolong lifespan
Exterior Plywood is available in 6mm, 6.5mm, 9mm and 12mm thicknesses

We cut to measure and can help you with design projects or construction of sheds, log cabins and delivery of your Timber and Plywood.

How Plywood is made
Plywood layers (called veneers) are glued together with adjacent plies having their grain at right angles to each other for greater strength. There are
usually an odd number of plies so that the sheet is balanced—this reduces warping. Because of the way plywood is bonded (with grains running against one another and with an odd number of composite parts) it is very hard to bend it perpendicular to the grain direction.

MDF Boards

We can provide MDF cut to size and delivered on site, as well as your structure assembled either on site or in our warehouse or yard.
Sheets come in very Large sizes and in a varity of thicknesses from 6mm upto 25mm for other products not shown on this website please call as we can have special products made and delivered to you.

Non-structural interior board that is versatile, dense, flat, stiff and knot free
Smooth sanded surface that can be finished with varnish or either oil or water based paints
Because MDF has no grain it can be cut, drilled, machined and filed without damaging the surface
Can be glued together with PVA, dowelled or fixed using traditional woodwork joints
Superior holding of screws and fasteners
Ideal for general purpose joinery and boxing in
Always cut in well ventilated areas. Machine tools should be fitted with attachment dust collectors. Always wear respiratory protection mask recommended for power tool use.

What is MDF
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is denser than plywood.
It is made up of separated fibres, (not wood veneers) but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and much more dense than normal particle board. The name derives from the distinction in densities of fibreboard.
